SCHOOL FUNDRAISING
Australians are the 2nd largest consumer of new textiles in the world. The average Australian buys 27kg of new textiles each year. Consumption in Africa, the Middle East and India averages just 5kg per person. This means in Australia, we are using 5 times more! 85% of this ends up in landfill. Two thirds of this consists of synthetic & plastic fibres that may never break down. The way we use and discard clothing needs to change.
Together we can help. Make a commitment today and book a collection to recycle your unused clothes.
We have a unique opportunity to address this inequality and recycle clothes for 3rd world countries.
Items we accept are:
- Men’s clothing including trousers, shirts, socks, underwear and jackets
- Ladies’ clothing including trousers, dresses, skirts, underwear and scarves
- Children’s clothing including baby clothes, shawls and hats
- Household rummage including nets, curtains, bed sheets and pillow cases
Cash for Clothing is an approved recycling company with a fleet of licenced waste collection vehicles. We hold the following licences:
- Waste management licence
- Waste carrier licence
- Public Liability
- Trained drivers to collect used clothing
We are accredited to provide recycling and fundraising initiatives with Schools, Charities, Hospitals, Councils and other approved organisations.
Help us recycle clothes that would normally go to waste.
These clothes can be used by disadvantaged and needy people who would otherwise not be able to afford high street clothing. What cannot be used as clothing can be recycled to produce car seats, sofas, mattresses and woollen balls, boxes and books. In fact, we estimate that around 1% will end up in waste after it has passed through the above processes. A far better outcome than wasting 85% of our clothes!
